Dirk Van den Berghe – Board member

My name is Dirk Van den Berghe. I am married to Veronique Eechaut and we live in Merelbeke with our son and daughter. I currently work fulltime for the IT department of the Fire Department Brandweerzone Centrum and am a volunteer firefighter since 2007 at the Fire Station of Merelbeke, which is part of the same Fire Department. My current rank is adjudant, which is equivalent to the rank of captain in U.S. fire departments My passion is traveling and I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. That is how I came in contact with Fire Observers organization. I was amazed by their programs and became a member. My first trip was to Nashville, TN for the 2013 program. Experiencing the brotherhood, meeting new people, establishing friendships and learning from our American colleagues make all of the programs within this organization worth while. I was selected as Board Member and have accompanied and organized multiple programs in the meantime. |
