Marc Opstal

I first set foot on US soil back in 1995 and this was, for me, the start of a long and fun journey.  In 1996 I became a member of the Fire Observers vzw.  Since its origination I have been  proud and honored to serve as the board’s President.

After nursing school graduation, I worked in several hospitals but I found my true calling on October 1st 1993.  That is when I started my carreer as a firefighter with the Zaventem Fire Department.

I promoted through the ranks of Engineer, Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant to the rank I hold now as Battalion Chief.  Besides responding to emergencies I’m the assigned Chief Logistics.
