Ready, set, go…today our first training program for 2014 kicks off!
The next 16 days 10 Fire Observers out of Belgium and The Netherlands will be spending time in the US, in the states of Florida and Georgia to be precise.
In Georgia they will be hosted by the Atlanta Fire rescue Department for their training and ride along program.
All our members will be assigned over various halls and units. Next to the actual calls they’re gonna with their Atlanta brothers and sisters, numerous work visits, drills, demo’s,…are scheduled with the entities of AFRD like EOC, the fire academy, ARFF, special ops division,… One thing is certain, all Fire Observers are extremely motivated and they’re looking forward to this program!
During their stay in Florida, they will be spending time as tourists in Delray Beach, Miami, Miami Beach, Orlando, Daytona Beach, St Augustine and Jacksonville.
On March 15th, they will also march up in the 46th Delray Beach St Patrick’s Day Parade. This will be the third year in a row that we participate in this parade representing both our nations and fire departments.
